Kenny Lee told how he almost became a victim of fishing, allegedly arranged by the North Korean group Lazarus.
Hackers contacted him through Telegram under the guise of a friend, appointed a zoom call and tried to convince him to turn on the camera and download the update. The video used records of real employees, which looked as convincing as possible - but there was no sound. It was alerted, and he came out of the call.
He later requested a personality confirmation through Telegram - and the hackers immediately removed the chat.
Lee called on the crypto community not to download files to other people's links, even if the “familiar face” on the screen. He noted that such attacks are often aimed at tired employees prone to quick reaction to requests.
